Case 31: Active five year old

بسم الله⚜⚜

والصَّلات والسَّلام على رسول الله⚜

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

🔴Question:

The issue we are taking up today concerns a five year old who is very active. This sister has various concerns about the child. She has her hands full dealing with his anger, stubbornness and disobedience. What she wants is to be his friend, but is unable to do so because he doesn’t even listen to her.

🔵 Answer:

Allah (‎ﷻ) has created all of us differently. People are born with different personalities, looks etc. Even children from the same womb are different. Every person’s fingerprints are unique to them. So comparing a child or expecting too much from them will only lead to disappointments.

Now concerning this particular child, he seems to be having a short attention span. His ability to engage in one activity for a long period of time is less. He seems to get bored easily. Some children even have high energy levels and when this energy is not channelized or utilized properly, it leads to hyperactivity.

To do this we need to engage the child in different indoor or outdoor activities other than school.

✅By indoor games this could mean making use of all his senses. It could be building or creating something using clay, or painting or solving puzzles etc. Watching television has its pros and cons. So what we choose to show to our kids is very important. There are a number of good Islamic channels which will help our children in developing their emaan. This one sister let’s her child watch cartoons only on weekends, but the child finds excuses to go to his friend’s house. This might be because he is being allowed to watch tv there. So it’s better we let our children watch the content we want them to watch than letting them go elsewhere to watch it.

Some of the beneficial and good Islamic channels are :

🔸Muslim kids T.V

🔸Zaky

🔸Baba Ali

🔸Misri Bunch

✅Now about outdoor games there is nothing as stimulating and beneficial as playing in the fresh air and sweating it out;especially for children who have high energy levels. Lots of activities are available in the school campus itself. Like skating, badminton, karate classes, swimming etc. If it is not possible to enroll kids in these type of outdoor games then taking them for walks in nearby parks is the next best thing.

✅Having good companionship is also very important for growing children. Children either learn from their parents, their siblings or from their friends. So the kind of company they keep affects the overall development of the child . These years are highly crucial for the child.

🌼In an authentic Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (‎ﷺ‎) said: 💡”A person is likely to follow the faith of his friend, so look whom you befriend.” 💡[reported by Abu Dawood & Tirmidhee]

🏳Another issue that the sister has with the child is that he does not listen to her and doesn’t respect her.

☝First we need to understand that a child too deserves respect. So unless we give respect and attention to the child, we will not receive the same from them. To discipline the child, it is very important to set a routine for their activities. They should have a set of rules and regulations to follow and also have a checklist in which you can write down all the things that need to be done by them for them to be rewarded for it. For example doing the homework, doing the daily salaah, helping with the chores at home etc. So once the child does this, he should be rewarded and not bribed with it. And one more thing to follow here is that we have to be true to our promises. Once we tell them they will be rewarded with an hour of tv or a small gift for doing somthing, then if we don’t fulfill our promise, next time we will lose our child’s trust and respect.

To make this a reality we need to do this consistently. Its ok to have an off day when you or the child is sick but if we don’t follow the pattern consistently, it will not become a habit and will result in an unhealthy pattern of behavior.

When the child is being stubborn and not listening to the mother it’s ok to once in a while give in. Prioritize the things they can and cannot get or give them an alternative. If giving in to their demands is not going to become a habit and could lead to positive reinforcement, then it’s better to give the child what he desires. But it’s important that we draw a line when this stubbornness leads to negative behavior. Instant gratification of the need can be dangerous too. So it’s our duties as mothers to take the call in the best interest of our children and make the correct decision.

But whatever the situation, controlling our anger and being in control of the situation is very important. We should realize the anger exhibited by the child is only a sign or symptom of some underlying problem. So what we need to do is find the reason for this behavior. Using a calm and reasonable tone will help in getting to the bottom of the problem.

The best example for this is most definitely our Prophet Mohammed (‎ﷺ‎)

🌼It is narrated by Anas رضى الله عنه when mentioning his childhood, “I served the Prophet (‎ﷺ‎) for ten years, and he never said to me, “Uff” (a minor harsh word denoting impatience) and never blamed me by saying, “Why did you do so or why didn’t you do so?” (Sahih Al-Bukhari).

🌻We need to implement good values in our children by using a strong Islamic foundation. This can be done by first and foremost being good role models to them. We can tell and advice our children but what they will follow and do is what we show them in our day to day activities. Keep telling them stories of our Prophet(‎ﷺ‎) and his Seerah. Let the incidents of our Sahaba be a guiding light for them. Let the activities they engage in be somhow connected to Islamic values and teachings. For example if the child is interested in painting, get him a cutout of a masjid and ask him to color it, or if you are taking them to the zoo or nature walks, explain the majesty of Allah (‎ﷻ) who created even the most insignificant of creatures with their own purpose in life. Even watching television can be used constructively. There are lots of Islamic channels or sites on You tube which can provide a wealth of imformation and at the same time be entertaning. What we need to do is filter these sites and channels for our kids and monitor the content that they can watch .

Allah (‎ﷻ) has created us to worship him.

✅Therefore everything we do should be to please him. And when an act is done to please our Rabb then it becomes an ibaadah. So if we are putting our utmost effort in achieving our ultimate goal which is Jannah, then most definitely these acts will help us get closer to Allah (‎ﷻ) .

It is mentioned in the Quran 51:56

🌟”And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”🌟

So if we take the time and the effort to guide our children on the path to righteousness and the path towards Allah (‎ﷻ) and doing so with the sole intention of pleasing Him, then most definitely Allah (‎ﷻ) will make it easy for us and place barakah in our efforts.

🌼It is narrated on the authority of Umar ibn al-Khattab رضى الله عنه who said: I heard the Messenger (‎ﷺ‎)say:

💡“All actions are judged by motives, and each person will be rewarded according to their intention…”💡 (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim)

🌟“Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times the like thereof”🌟 (Surah al-Anaam:160)

Therefore I would like to end this with a Dua for our children who have to deal with much more temptations and distractions than us.

🌷Ya Allah bless our children. And enable them to obey You and make them kind towards us.

🌷Ya Allah you were the Teacher of Musa and Adam, so teach our kids too. Bestow them with knowledge.

🌷You gave beneficial knowledge to Suleiman so grant our kids beneficial knowledge too.

🌷You were the Giver of Hikmah and authentic, decisive speech to Luqman. So give them hikmah and authentic, decisive speech too.

🌷Teach them of what they are ignorant and remind them what they forget.

🌷Open on them (the doors of) barakah from the skies and from beneath.

Indeed You are the Listener andthe one who replies and accepts Dua’s.

أمين يا رب العلمين

و آخر الدعوانا أن الحمد لله رب العالمين.

Case 29: Missed Ramadan Fasts And Importance of Shawwal fasts

بِسْم الله⚜⚜

الحمد الله⚜

والصَّلات والسَّلام على رسول الله⚜

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

🔴Question:

🔼The question we are going to answer this week is very relevant for the month of Ramadan. A sister has asked us about how to make up missed Ramadan fasts. And also the importance of fasting during the month of shawwal.

🔵Answer:

🔹Let’s start by discussing how important it is to fast during this blessed month.

🌻The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 💡”In Jannah, there is a gate which is called “Ar-Raiyyan” through which only those who observe ‘Saum’ (fasting) will enter on the Day of Resurrection. No one else will enter through it. It will be called out, “Where are those who observe fasting?” So they will stand up and proceed towards it. When the last of them will have entered, the gate will be closed and then no one will enter through that gate.” 💡

[Bukhari Muslim, riyad as-salihin 1217]

🌻The Prophet (ﷺ) said,💡 “He who observes fasting during the month of Ramadan with Faith, while seeking its reward from Allah‎ﷻ, will have his past sins forgiven.”💡

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim, riyad as-salihin 1219]

🌻The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, 💡”Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: ‘Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except As-Siyam (the fasting) which is (exclusively) for Me, and I will reward him for it.’

Fasting is a shield. When anyone of you is observing fast, he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise his voice; and if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him, he should say: ‘I am fasting.’ By Him in Whose Hand the soul of Muhammad‎ﷺ‎ is, the breath of one observing Saum is sweeter to Allah‎ﷻ than the fragrance of musk. The one who fasts, experiences two joys: he feels pleasure when he breaks the fast. He is joyful by virtue of his fast when he meets his Rubb.”💡

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim, riyad as-salihin 1215]

🔘So it is of paramount importance that as Muslims we fast during this month to gain the favors of our Rabb.

🔘But if we miss some fasts due to reasons such as sickness or travelling, or menstruation in the case of women, then we must make it up after Ramadan, and we must make up the number of days that we did not fast, because Allah‎ﷻ says:

🌟“and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number [of days which one did not observe Sawm (fasts) must be made up] from other days”🌟

[al-Baqarah 2:185].

🌼‘Aisha رضى الله عنه said: That (i.e., menstruation) would happen to us and we would be told to make up the fasts, but we were not told to make up the prayers.

[Al-Bukhaari (321) and Muslim (335)]

🔘The time for making up the fasts lasts until the next Ramadan begins; we can make them up at any time during this period, on consecutive days or separately.

🔘It is not permissible for us to delay making them up after the following Ramadan, unless we have an excuse.

The one who breaks the fast with no excuse also has to repent to Allah, regret what they have done, resolve never to do it again, and do a lot of righteous deeds such as observing nawafil fasts and so on.

Allah‎ﷻ says:

🌟“And verily, I am indeed forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them (till his death)🌟.

🔘And about the fasting of shawwal,it can’t be stressed enough how important it is. Fasting six days of Shawwaal after the obligatory fast of Ramadan is Sunnah Mustahabbah, not waajib. It is recommended for the Muslim to fast six days of Shawwaal, and in this there is great virtue and an immense reward. Whoever fasts these six days will have recorded for him a reward as if he had fasted a whole year, as was reported in a saheeh hadeeth from the Prophet‎ﷺ‎.

🌼Abu Ayyoob رضى الله عنه reported that the Messenger of Allah‎ﷺ‎ said: 💡“Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime.”💡

[Narrated by Muslim, Abu Dawood, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nisaa’i and Ibn Maajah].

🔘Another of the important benefits of fasting six days of Shawwaal is that it makes up for any shortfall in a person’s obligatory Ramadan fasts, because no one is free of shortcomings or sins that have a negative effect on his fasting. On the Day of Resurrection, some of his nawafil deeds will be taken to make up the shortcomings in his obligatory deeds, as the Prophet‎ﷺ‎ said:💡 “The first thing for which people will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be their salaah (prayer). Our Rabb‎ﷻ will say to His angels – although He knows best – ‘Look at the salaah of My slave, whether it is complete or incomplete.’ If it is perfect, it will be recorded as perfect, and if something is lacking, He will say, ‘Look and see whether My slave did any voluntary (nawafil) prayers.’ If he did some voluntary prayers, [Allah] will say, Complete the obligatory actions of My slave from his voluntary actions.’ Then all his actions will be dealt with in a similar manner.” 💡

[Narrated by Abu Dawood].

🌷May Allah‎ﷻ grant us the strength to increase our Ibadah and let our deeds be only for His sake and  and every act of Ibadah done with Ikhlas this Ramadan.

Case 27: Productivity in Ramadan

‎﷽‎

والحَمْدُ الله رب العلمين

‎و الصلاة و السلام على محمد و على آله و اصحابه اجمعين وبعد

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته!

🔴Question:

🔘This sister wanted to know, how to make her Ramadan productive, and how she can eaaily wake up for Tahajjud. Since we are into Ramadan now, I thought it best to put aside other cases, and use this opportunity to talk a little bit about Ramadan and productivity ‎إن شاء الله; and you will receive a surprise gift from us as well. ‎إن شاء الله 😊

🔵Answer:

!‎الحمد لله‎ . Allah‎ﷻ has made us witness another Ramadan and I ask Allah‎ﷻ to forgive us our sins and make this Ramadan a means of attaining Taqwa; and make it a transformational experience, so that we may work towards achieving our goals.

⌚Talking about Goals; How many of you plan your goals?

🎯We all know about Ramadan being a training period every year, for us to modify our habits and build our character; striving and struggling towards becoming an 🌸Ideal Muslimah🌸 ‎إن شاء الله

⚠But most of us get stuck at some point, not knowing what to do or how to go about achieving these goals. Sure, we listen to lectures and we read articles and books pertaining to self- development / improvement; but then we are never motivated to move to the next step.

👍I am telling that now it’s possible for you to be motivated, and this is not going to happen by merely reading article after article and listening to one motivational speech/ lecture after another.

❓ Then how are you going to make this happen?

✅Well, what I am about to share is my personal journey. It’s still a journey and it will remain so, until we meet our Rabb, ‎إن شاء الله.

The Messenger ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) said, 💡“When the inhabitants of Paradise enter Paradise, Allah will say to them, ‘Do you want Me to give you anything more?’ They will reply, ‘Have You not made our faces bright? Have You not brought us into Paradise and moved us from Hell?’ Allah will then remove the Veil and they will feel that they have not been awarded anything dearer to them than looking at their Lord.”💡

[Sahih Muslim]

☘Before I go on further, I want to share an interesting thought about goals, which was explained to me by one of my teachers. The concept of ‘Goals’ and ‘Milestones’! She explained, that our ultimate ‘goal’ is to meet Allah‎ﷻ! That should be our primary focus and the rest of the mini goals are the milestones!☞ These could be, wanting to overcome your anger, laziness or any bad habit, making up missed fasts, waking up for Tahajjud; could be anything.

🔷 Moving on from here, let’s see how to achieve these milestones, so we can achieve our ultimate Goal of meeting with our Rabb.

⭐So, here it is:

👣One step at a time.

➡ This concept should be used for any milestone, that you might have for yourself. Have you seen a baby who learns to walk for the first time? Imagine, if this baby attempts to run on his very first step, he would take a fall, isn’t it? Or, imagine this child refuses to take any effort to walk, because he is too comfortable in his mama’s lap. Now that’s just a hypothetical situation. We know, that it’s a natural phenomena and every healthy child, when he reaches a particular stage, is bound to do the things that Allah‎ﷻ has ordained him to do. Similarly, Allah‎ﷻ did not create our bodies or our minds to rust away. Our bodies were created for physical activity, to move around and work; and our minds were created, so that we can use our intellect- think, ponder and reflect. We are required to use them to our benefit. Allah‎ﷻ sent down the Islamic Shari’ah through our Prophet‎ﷺ‎, as a means to perfect these aspects in us. So, it is upto us how much effort we put into achieving these milestones!

🌼Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allahﷺ said,💡 “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.”💡

{Sunan Ibn Mājah 4240

Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani}

✅So, having this hadith in mind, let’s see how we can convert these small and consistent deeds into actions.

💠 Identify your milestones (Dunya) and Goals(Akhirah)

💠 Create a list of these.

💠 Be consistent.

💠 Take Action.

⭐Now comes, the ‘how’ part: when you start out to do something, imagine you have a sink full of dishes to do, (well we don’t have to imagine that now, do you? That’s a reality for every house wife.) So, you have this sink full of dishes you are dreading to wash. It’s a milestone for that particular hour, and I hate to do dishes; a sink full petrifies me. So, what I do is, I don’t think too much about it. Sure I have times when I get intimidated with it, and walk in and out of the kitchen a couple of times, but then I don’t dwell in the thought of, “how am I going to do this?” The more I think about this the more I won’t want to do it. What I am doing here is, procrastinating and the result of that would be more piled up dishes and ‘lost time’; the most important thing not to lose. So, instead of dwelling in the thought of how am I going to do it, I dive right into it, and one dish at a time, the job is done.🔼Same for laundry, putting the clothes for drying, one piece of clothing at a time; Quran, one ayah at a time; Tahajjud- 2 rakah at a time.I am sure you have all got my point. The key is to ‘Dive Right Into It’.

💠 Up your Dua.

We are in such a Mubarak month, where the shaiateen are locked up, and we have better control over ourselves. Every year when Allah‎ﷻ let’s us witness this month by His mercy, where He is giving us a Jackpot Bonanza in everything, especially dua, we need to make use of this blessing, ask Allah to make it easy for us to overcome any habit we might want to change, or any knowledge we want to gain; or if we are a student of knowledge, to make the learning easy for us. Make dua for your family situations, for Rizq, for anything and everything no matter how small; He is the Al Wahhab- The All Giving and Ar- Razzaq- The All Provider. So, who shall we turn to, if not Him, to answer our Dua’s.

💠 Schedule your tasks.

A lot of us lack this skill. This is something we do not give much importance to, thinking, that we would take life as it comes. While there is nothing wrong in taking our lives as it comes, which it does anyway, cause Allah is the One who is in control of our affairs; we need to have some amount of disciple in our lives, if we want stability in our lives. Our deen is about discipline and schedule.’ How?’, you may ask: Our Five Daily Prayers! This is the proof, emphasizing the importance of having a schedule and disciplined life.

Organize and schedule your daily tasks around the Salah timings. From Fajr to Dhur, I will do these things, from Dhur to Asr, these things and so forth.

💠Give priority to Salah:

Leave what you are doing, and head to finish your prayers as soon as possible. There will be immense blessings in your time, when you prioritize meeting your Rabb over other things.

💠Increase your Charity:

Finally, I want to tell the sister who asked the question; she said she wanted something that can be done easil; to that I want to say that, nothing is easy sis, especially when you want to change something in your life. It requires hard work, dedication and sincere intention to change what’s not working for you in your life. The only way it becomes easy, is by holding on to Allah’s rope and making Dua to Him‎ﷻ to make things easy for you, and only H‎e‎ﷻ can do that. As long as your intention is right, and you do everything for His sake; for example, you want to bring about these changes in your life to get closer to Him, He will facilitate it for you ‎إن شاء الله. And Ramadan is the best time to bring about those changes.

I ask Allah‎ﷻ to help us schedule, disciple, and build positive habits in this Blessed month and May He help us stick to these changes even after Ramadan, and May He let us witness another Ramadan to reap it’s benefits.

Case 18: Losing Focus in Learning the Deen

‎﷽‎‬

ولحَمْدُ الله
وَصَّلَاتُ وَسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُول الله
السلام عليكم ررحمة الله وبركاته

❓Question❓

The sister is a student of deen and a house wife, and she says that she sometimes loses focus from learning and she also feels guilty about it and feels like she is not using her time usefully, although she does all the household chores, takes care of her children and also does volunteering work. She want to know she can overcome this.

🅰️Answer📝

To answer the sisters question, let me first explain briefly about the duties of a woman in Islam. Just as the man is a protector and maintainer of a woman, in terms of taking the responsibility of his family. A woman is also a protector and maintainer within the household, it is a duty of a woman to take care of her husband’s household and his children, and it is a highly responsible job to raise children with proper Islamic values. So, sister do not think that you are ‘just’ raising your children, because its not an easy job especially in the times that we are living in today. Raising children is not a mediocre job, it requires a lot of effort and time. Appreciate yourself for the challenges you face everyday with this huge responsibility. And this is your number one duty you are assigned by Allah‎ﷻ‬ as well.

The next huge job is that of the household chores, again it’s not easy, as difficult and challenging as your children’s upbringing is, managing household chores is not a meagre task either. We women often underestimate ourselves for not doing enough in the duties we are entrusted with and usually end up saying its just so much I am doing. Although Islam does not require us to do house work, think of the hasanath you are piling up by doing these things for our family members. Also, we should learn to pat our backs some times for doing a job well done and we mustn’t forget who has designated us with the position of being these protectors and maintainers, Allahﷻ‬ Himself.

Now, you are also doing voluntary work and making time for serving the community, I cannot emphasize the rewards of spending your time for the sake of Allah‎ﷻ‬ and being able to offer your services to those who need it. You are doing a fabulous job.
بارك الله فيك

The point to note here is to base your actions on your intentions and always intend to do it for the sake of Allah‎ﷻ‬ and definitely the reward for your actions and intentions are with Allah‎ﷻ‬

For He‎ﷻ‬ says in the Quran;

“Whoever works righteousness, Man or Woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.”
{Surah An- Nahl: 97}

Coming to you not being able to spend enough time on your education. The lack of focus is mostly because of waswasas from shaitaan and sometimes due to our own laziness, or the desire of the nafs for being laid back and be lazy. Set aside a time (1or 2 hours) everyday for study, maybe after Fajr or after Isha, or when the children have gone to school, make sure you don’t have any distractions during this time and you use this time only to focus on your studies. You must have heard of the saying; “Where there is a will there is a way”, we are so used to this quote that we are desensitized by it, and it has become a cliche but, it actually holds so true if you actually follow it. No body is going to do our job for us and we have to get moving and take action for it, and if we have the will to do it we make our way towards success in that region.

Use the Pomodoro Technique follow this link to learn more about this technique, ‎إن شاء الله‬
http://pomodorotechnique.com/

This is a fabulous technique to make the most out of your day. ‎إن شاء الله‬

Don’t think too much when you plan to do something, the more you think, the more you will procrastinate, when you plan your day and when you have set a time for something just do it, the more you think about it the more room you give for negative thoughts and these negative thoughts can also be the thoughts of putting things off or getting overcome by laziness and lethargy. Stop by ignoring them the moment they prop in your mind.

Our deen offers the best solutions to overcoming difficulties that we face in our day to day lives, ‎إن شاء الله‬ recite this dua, the reason why we are not able to achieve certain goals in our lives is due to certain unproductive factors that influence us, and in this dua we seek refuge in Allah‎ﷻ‬ from these negative factors. ‎سبحان الله‎‬

So here is the dua to make you more productive:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحُزْنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

Allahmuma inni ‘audhubika minal hammi, wal Huzni, wal ‘ajazi, wal kasali, wal bukhli, wa Dala’id- dayni, wa ghlabatil rijaal.

May Allah‎ﷻ‬ help us focus on tasks that are important and May He protect us from laziness, May He help us utilize our time in the most beneficial manner in learning His deen and working for His deen.

Case 16: Tahajjud Productivity

﷽‎‬
ولحَمْدُ الله
وَصَّلَاتُ وَسَّلَامُ عَلَى رَسُول الله
السلام عليكم ررحمة الله وبركاته

❓❔Question❔❓

Today’s Post is based on the mention of Tahajjud on our various posts, we had requests from a few sister’s to help to wake up for Tahajjud, so we decided to give you some tips ‎إن شاء الله‬!

🅰️Answer📝

There is immense barakah in waking up for Tahajjud or Qiyam Al Layl.

⚜ In a hadith, Abu Hurairah رضى الله عنه reports that the Prophet‎ﷺ‎‬ said: “Our Lord Descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: `Who will call on to Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?”

[Bukhari and Muslim.]

IMG_3762

It is the most productive way to start our day. What more can we ask for than being able to start our day in conversation with our Rabb, being the closest to Him.

A few preliminary things to do if you intend to wake up for Tahajjud are:

🌙🌙Night Time Check List 🌙

✅ Sit in Dhikr after ‘Isha Salah.
Remembering Allah‎ﷻ‬ before you sleep will add barakah in waking up for His sake with the aim of being close to Him.

✅ Avoid late nights.
Try to go to bed as soon as possible after ‘Isha. Indulging in vain idle talks will put you off from sleep and make it difficult to wake up in the morning. Set a time for bed and try to be as consistent and dedicated as possible to maintain the bed time. 📵DO NOT SPEND TIME ON YOUR PHONE BEFORE YOU SLEEP. 📵This habit is a major time stealer, and something I need to work on myself 🙂 ‎إن شاء الله‬! We need to be strict with ourselves in order to discipline ourselves for achieving our goal, in this case- closeness to Allah‎ﷻ‬.

✅ Bedtime Adhkar and Wudu.
This helps so much in building your focus and will help you sleep better as well.

🔱🔱🔱 Some of the Adhkar you can say are 🔱:

‎بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
✨ In Your name O Allah, I live and die [Muslim]

✨Recite Ayat Al Kursi

✨Recite the Mi’wadhatayn , Surah Ikhlas and Kafiroon

⚜It was narrated from Aa’ishah رضى الله عنها that when the Prophetﷺ went to bed every night, he would hold his hands together and blow into them, and recite into them Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad, Qul a’oodhu bi rabb il-falaq and Qul a’oodhu bi rabb il-naas. Then he would wipe them over whatever he could of his body, starting with his head and face and the front of his body, and he would do that three times. [Bukhari]

✨ ‎Tasbeeh سبحان الله‎‬ (glorified be allah) thirty three times, ‎Tahmeed الحمد لله‎‬ (all praise is to allah) thirty three times, and ‎Takbeer الله أكبر‬ (Allah is the greater) thirty four times.
narrated by al-bukhari and muslim.

✨Make Istaghfaar and don’t forget to cleanse your heart of grudges and hate.

✅ Sleep with the intention to wake up for Tahajjud.
When your make an intention with ikhlas (sincerity), you tend to be aware of it and that pushes you into action out of love for Allah to please Him.

☀☀ Morning Check List☀

🔆 Wake up with the dua and rubbing your palms on your face to eliminate the traces of sleep.

⚜ Narrated Ibn Abbas رضى الله عنه
That once he stayed overnight in the house of his aunt, the wife of the Prophet‎ﷺ‎‬. He added: I lay on the cushion transversely while Allah’s Apostl‎e‎ﷺ‎‬ lay along with his wife in the lengthwise direction of cushion. Allah’s Apostle‎ﷺ‎‬ slept till the middle of the night, either a bit before or a bit after it, and then woke up rubbing the traces of sleep off his face with his hands, and then recited the last ten Verses of Surat Al-Imran. Then he got up and went to a hanging water skin, performed ablution from it —- and performed it perfectly. Then he‎ﷺ‎‬ stood up to perform the prayer. I also did the same 3 things he had done and then went to stand beside him. Allah’s Apostle‎ﷺ‎‬ put his right hand on my head and held and twisted my right ear. He then offered two Rakat, then two Rakat then two Rakat, then two then two Rakat, then two Rakat, and finally, one Rak’a Witr. Then lay down again till the Muadhdhin (i.e. the call-maker) came to him, whereupon he got up and offered a light two Rakat prayer and went out (to the Masjid) and offered the (compulsory congregational) Fajrprayer.
[Sahih Al Bukhari]

🔆🔆’Ad ‘iyah for waking up:

‎لحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
✨All praise is for Allah who gave us life after causing us to die, and unto Him is the resurrection.

✨There is none worth of worship but Allah alone, Who has no partner, His is the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is able to do all things. Glory is to Allah. Praise is to Allah. There is none worth of worship but Allah. Allah is the Most Great. There is no might and no power except by Allah’s leave, the Exalted, the Mighty. My Lord, forgive me.

⚜Whoever says this will be forgiven, and if he supplicates Allah, his prayer will be answered; if he performs ablution and prays, his prayer will be accepted.
[Al-Bukhari]

🔆Blow your Nose
⚜Narrated Abu Huraira رضى الله عنه: The prophet‎ﷺ‎‬ said:
“When one of you wakes up from his sleep, he must blow of his nose three times, for the Satan spends the night inside one’s nostrils.”
[Bulugh al Maraam, Book 1, Hadith 42; Saheeh al Bukhaari 3295; Saheeh Muslim, Book 2, Hadith 462]

⏰Alarm Setting Rules ⏰

📍Set your Alarm to 45 minutes before Fajr time.
📍Do not🚫 keep the Alarm next to your bed/pillow.
📍Keep it at a distance, so it forces you to leave your bed to turn it off.
📍Once you are up to turn it off, DO NOT RETURN to your BED.
📍Use that walk to take you to the bathroom instead of your bed.

This advice is for myself first and ‎إن شاء الله‬ it benefits you all as well….
May Allah‎ﷻ‬ make us the people of Qiyyam Al Layl and May He‎ﷻ‬ grant the strength and ability to lift that blanket of and stand in prayer at a hour that guarantees our Dua’s to be answered…
